This ceramic conch shell is an important part of Polynesian culture, such shells are known as ‘gifts from the sea’ and are used as an instrument produce warm, full, and far-carrying tone to communicate various meanings in both religious and secular traditions across the different islands. When a high chief dies in Fiji conch shells are blown continuously by relays of people in an unbroken signal from the time of death until the burial. In Hawaii, in modern times they are blown in the daytime and are blown until the last drop of sun dips into the ocean in the far horizon.

Inspired by the cultural use of the conch shell this seashell tiki mug is made in-house by our skilled ceramics team and is brought to life in a layered glaze with a hint of color showing through a sandy top coat. This piece comes in two variations
