That feeling is what Little Grass Shack is all about.
For more than 25 years we've been collecting, making and searching out the strange, colourful and wonderful things that help create a little tropical escape of your own.
It started with Tiki mugs
Our story began with a love of vintage Tiki mugs. Weekends spent searching thrift stores and antique markets became an obsession with the creativity, craftsmanship and characters behind these iconic ceramic cocktail vessels.
Eventually we wanted to make our own. When we couldn't find a pottery capable of producing the quality and designs we imagined, we bought a kiln, learnt the craft and started making them ourselves.
More than two decades later, we continue to create handmade Tiki mugs for collectors, cocktail lovers, home bartenders and commercial Tiki bars around the world. Some take inspiration from the classics; others are entirely our own. What they have in common is a belief that a cocktail should be as much fun to look at as it is to drink.Inspired by the Pacific
Our fascination with Tiki has always gone beyond ceramics. Travelling through places including Samoa and the Cook Islands gave us a deeper appreciation of the cultures, craftsmanship and natural beauty that have influenced Tiki and tropical design.
We became particularly fascinated by traditional Pacific crafts such as vintage Tongan tapa cloth, with its bold patterns and remarkable handmade character. These experiences continue to influence the things we collect and the products we create.

The spirit of Tiki
The Tiki culture familiar to many of us grew in America during the mid-20th century, when bars such as Don the Beachcomber and Trader Vic's created elaborate tropical worlds filled with exotic cocktails, bamboo, carvings and nautical curiosities.
It was an idealised version of the Pacific rather than an authentic representation of Polynesian cultures, but it created a unique style centred around escapism, imagination and hospitality. That spirit continues today as people build home Tiki bars, Tiki Rooms, tropical gardens and commercial venues around the world.

Tropical treasures and beachcomber finds
Little Grass Shack has grown far beyond Tiki mugs. Our collection includes Tiki décor and bar accessories, tropical homeware, vintage Tongan tapa cloth, bamboo and palm thatch, as well as nautical décor inspired by the beachcomber tradition.
You'll also find our own handmade glass fish float lights, each one crafted in-house to capture the warm, weathered character of a treasured piece of seaside history.
We're now based in Spain and ship throughout Europe and around the world. We continue to travel, collect and look for new ideas and unusual finds to share with fellow Tiki enthusiasts.
